Survey of Open Access (OA) Open Science Scholarship (OS) services infrastructure in Europe

OA & OS Infrastructure (OSI) is defined as sets of services, protocols, standards and software contributing to the research lifecycle – from collaboration and experimentation through data collection and storage, data organization, data analysis and computation, authorship, submission, review and annotation, copyediting, publishing, archiving, citation, discovery and more (IOI definition).

The purpose of this survey, commissioned by SPARC Europe, is to gather information on established (operating for at least 2 years) international, national or regional OA & OS infrastructures. We invite the owner or director of the OSI preferably to complete this survey.

The survey, which is being conducted for Invest in Open Infrastructure, should take you approximately 30 minutes to complete and will be open until 5 June 2020. Once closed, in close collaboration with OPERAS, we will use the following two months to review and compile the survey results which will be shared during late summer/early autumn 2020.

If you are based in Europe and are running a service or infrastructure that supports OA or OS anywhere in the research cycle, we’d like to hear from you. In the event that you are  responsible for more than one, please submit entries for each.

With your feedback, you can help us bring greater visibility and a deeper understanding of the rich offering of scholarly communication resources based in the European region, who they serve and how, how open and sustainable this infrastructure is, and ultimately, help attract more funding.

Your feedback will also be used to guide funders – governments, funding organisations and agencies, institutions, libraries, service providers and others – conceive effective strategies for financing essential Open infrastructure. Based on what we learn, we also plan to showcase some of you as leading open infrastructure champions.
