About Research Software Alliance

The Research Software Alliance (ReSA) was convened in 2019 to support recognition and valuing of research software as a fundamental and vital component of research worldwide. ReSA’s mission is to bring research software communities together to collaborate on the advancement of research software.  A wide range of research software organizations and programs exist internationally to address the varied challenges in software productivity, quality, reproducibility, and sustainability. ReSA aims to coordinate across these efforts to leverage investments to achieve shared long-term goals. ReSA is a member-based organization.

Research Software Alliance and RDA
ReSA and RDA are organizations with related missions.Whereas the Research Data Alliance (RDA) focuses on research data and the Research Software Alliance (ReSA) focuses on research software, there are many activities that involve both data and software, and thus coordination between the groups, particularly focused on synergistic activities, will be beneficial to RDA and ReSA and their member communities, as well as to the activities themselves.
