The Research Data Alliance – The First Five Years

"The Research Data Alliance – The First Five Years" is an insightful article written by Prof. Francine Berman[1], 2019-2020 Radcliffe Fellow, Harvard University, Edward P. Hamilton Distinguished Professor of Computer Science, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and one of the founding members and co-chairs of the Research Data Alliance.

Prof. Berman completed her six-year tenure on the RDA Council in 2019. She has documented the design, development and growth of the RDA since its inception in 2012. She outlines the organization, its ethos, principles and working methods, and she gives some very important suggestions and ideas for the future of this global, volunteer, community-based initiative.
