Johnny Ogunji

Johnny Ogunji obtained a Ph. D in Aquaculture (Academic grade: Magna Cum Laude) from Humboldt University Berlin, Germany in November 2000. He is a Post Doctoral Fellow of Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (AvH) Germany. He is a member of World Aquaculture Society. Prof Dr Ogunji is Coordinator of the Association of Commonwealth (ACU) – Early Careers: Structured Training for African Researchers (STARS) and Climate Impact Research Capacity and Leadership Enhancement In Sub-Saharan Africa Programme (CIRCLE) projects in EBSU 2013 - date. He has conducted a lot of researches on alternative protein sources that can be used to replace fish meal in diet of fish and livestock. Considering the potentials and importance of housefly maggot meal (magmeal) to solve a serious problem in developing countries, Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (AvH) Germany, approved his proposal and accepted him for a post doctoral research fellowship in Germany. He received from Federal Ministry of Science and Technology and Raw Materials Research and Development Council Nigeria a National Research Award in 2011.
