Gdańsk University of Technology

Gdańsk University of Technology (Gdańsk Tech) is a technical university in Gdańsk, and one of the oldest universities in Poland. It has eight faculties with 41 fields of study and more than 18 thousand undergraduate, as well as over 600 doctoral students. The Gdańsk University of Technology is one of the 8 Polish universities classified in the prestigious Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), also known as the Shanghai Ranking. It is also the second-best research university in Poland in the ‘Initiative of Excellence - Research University’ competition of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

 

People from Gdańsk Tech Library, as well as from other Gdańsk Tech units are involved in numerous international initiatives related to the idea of Open Science. These actions are usually undertaken as a part of the larger projects developed by worldwide organisations and mostly concern issues focused on research data management and providing open access to the scientific output. They are also members of numerous working groups established by the RDA. which activities cencern of the quality of the support services offered for researchers. Gdańsk Tech representatives have actively participated in every RDA Plenary Meeting since 2017.
