DataCite

DataCite is a not-for-profit organisation aimed at establishing easier access to research data on the Internet, increasing acceptance of research data as legitimate, citable contributions to the scholarly record and supporting data archiving that will permit results to be verified and re-purposed for future study.

DataCite brings together the datasets community to collaboratively address the challenges of making research data visible and accessible.

The collaboration process supports researchers by helping them to find, identify, and cite research datasets with confidence, supports data centres by providing persistent identifiers for datasets, workflows and standards for data publication  as well as journal publishers by enabling research articles to be linked to the underlying data.
