About the Confederation of Open Access Repositories

The Confederation of Open Access Repositories (COAR) is an international association with 140 organizational members and partners from around the world representing libraries, universities, research institutions, government funders and others. COAR brings together the repository community and major repository networks in order to build capacity, align practices, define future functionalities, and act as a global voice for the repository community.

COAR & RDA

COAR and RDA have a shared mission to improve access and use of research outputs, leading to better research and new discoveries. Repositories are the tools that ensure research data are preserved, well managed, and available for reuse (where appropriate). As COAR aims to strengthen and expand the repository network, collaborating with RDA will make certain that COAR is actively engaged and developing a strategic agenda that aligns with other important stakeholders.
