Canadian Research Data Centre Network

The Canadian Research Data Centre Network (CRDCN) joined the Research Data Alliance in 2023 and looks forward to collaborating with other members on topics of common interest, such as improving the FAIRness of sensitive data, data sharing the quantitative social sciences, data linkage, data visitation, and research with surveys and national statistical data. CRDCN Executive Director, Dr. Natalie Harrower, is a longstanding contributor to the Research Data Alliance through various working groups and interest groups, and served as co-chair of the RDA COVID-19 data sharing working group, which published guidelines and recommendations for rapid data sharing in the early months of the pandemic. She was the local chair of the third RDA Plenary in Dublin (March 2014), has since served on the OAB and the Regional Assembly (as the representative for Europe), and has helped to develop central RDA initiatives, such as the current business model via the Financial Sustainability task force. Dr. Johanne Provençal, Research Program Director, represents CRDCN on the OAB. She is responsible for leading collaborative research, training and knowledge mobilization at CRDCN. This includes identifying and advocating for researcher data priorities, such as access to new datasets, data linkages, shared data documentation, and collaboration across jurisdictions and disciplines.
