Addis Ababa University (AAU)

Addis Ababa University (AAU), which was established in 1950, is the oldest and largest higher learning, research and innovation institution in Ethiopia . Since its inception, the University has been the leading center in teaching-learning, research and innovation, and community services through various Centers, Labs and Departments . AAU, as the leading research and innovation center in Ethiopia, has experience in managing and running several collaborative research projects, programs, research and innovation networks.

The Computational Data Science program, which represents AAU in this OA,  has been offering an MSc Degree in Computational Science with different streams since 2009. And recently started a PhD program in Computational Data Science. Computational Data Science is bringing Computer Science, Information Science, Data Science and traditional sciences together to a new frontier, with numerical computations and graphics visualization playing a key role in scientific investigations.

AAU and the RDA

Staff from AAU participate RDA summer school since 2017-2022 in Trieste as participants and mentor.  Organized RDA summer school in Addis Ababa in 2019 and teach most of the modules.  Staff from AAU teaches some of the modules in RDA summer school Rwanda in 2018
